Accomplishments

The Institution encourages its students to participate in various cultural and social activities. In turn it emphasizes social responsibility amongst the students as an important attribute towards the overall development of his/her individuality.

Some of the Accomplishments are:

  • The students participated in cultural/technical symposia organised by various colleges and have won laurels to the institution. The recent participations include symposia at IIT Chennai, HCE, SVCE, SRMCE etc.

  • The students of SSN SoMCA are members of Rotract Club  - Perungudi district. The chapter has adopted a village - Periya Pillieari Thaiyur and had taken up rural development projects like awareness campaign about hygiene, sanitation and nutrition. Ms. Swarna Thulasi of MBA has won the Best NSS Volunteer Award from the Chief Minister of TamilNadu.

SSN SoMCA organizes many workshops to bring close interaction between industry and students. The recent workshops organized were:

  • Dr. Narayanan G, Consultant, has organized a 6 week Soft Skills Workshop aimed at improving the communication and documentation abilities of students.
  • Dr. Jean Claude Mizzi, Head, Dept. of Asia-America, Ministry of Economy and Finance, France organized One day workshop on Perspectives in International Trade aimed at bringing the Internationalization perspective in the minds of future managers

The college concentrates not only on the academic development of students but also encourages their all-round development including physical fitness. Events

 

Students of SSN SoMCA organize a One day State-level Technical Symposium "REBOOT” every year. Normally, more than 240 Students from over 30 Colleges participate, and includes events such as  Project Management, On-Line Quiz, Debate, Gaming, C-Debugging etc. The latest edition of “REBOOT” was inaugurated by Mr.T.N.Vittal, Asst Vice President (Training & Development), Polaris Software Labs and had a unique theme on Nanotechnology.

Yet another annual event conducted by the students of SSN SoMCA is DAKSHA. The latest edition of this event witnessed the participation of over 200 students from 28 professional educational institutions. The event consisted of various contests such as KURUKSHETRA (Business Debate), CHANAKYA (Best Manager), BRAMHASTHRA (New product development), SANGRAM (Business Quiz) and PRAGYAMANCH (Business Meet). The event was inaugurated by Ms.Nancy Reisig, VP-HR, Ford India. The highlight of the event was a panel discussion on “Can Indian Brands withstand global competition?” The participants were Mr.K.Hariprakash, General Manager of Concorde Motors, Mr.Vijay Jacob Parakkal, V.P. of Brand David Communications, Mr.Mahesh Dyaram, Director & CTO of NEXGE Technologies. The discussion was moderated by Mr.G.Ramachandran,  Financial Analyst. The Chief Guest for the valedictory function was Mr.Sivaramakrishnan, President, SIFY Portals.

Students of SSN SoMCA also organize various events internally in the campus to create and strengthen bonds among the entire student body in the campus and among the various departments. One such event is the cultural extravaganza “Aura” conducted in 2006. Exciting and keenly participated individual and group events included:
