Profile

K. Subhash babu joined SSN School of Management & Computer Applications (SoMCA), SSN College of Engineering in 2004 and is currently Professor & Head, MCA Department where his teaching focuses on the areas of Computer Architecture, Computer Organization, Operating Systems and Computer Graphics & Multimedia Systems. Prior to joining SSN SoMCA, he has been associated as a visiting faculty with Regional Engineering College Tiruchirapalli and Kanchipuram Deemed University. He has a wide portfolio of industrial experience that includes heading the IBM ES9000 and AS400 Authorized Training Centre at Pentafour Software & Exports Limited. He has a total of 27 years industrial experience on Mainframe Computer Hardware, Maintenance and Operating Systems & Multimedia (Edutainment & Entertainment).

Subhash babu earned his B.E (Electronics & Communications Engineering) degree from Andhra University and M.Tech (Electrical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with specialization in Instrumentation, Control and Computer. His interests include areas related to Computer Architecture, Operating Systems and Computer Graphics & Multimedia Systems

Special Project/Assignments

 

o    Faculty coordinator for off campus training of Entry Level Recruits of Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and HCL Technologies ; Faculty coordinator for VSAT mode of training for CTS ; Faculty coordinator for Development of Training Assets for CTS.

o    Made significant contribution for getting NBA accreditation for MCA Department.

o    Represented TIL Studios in Trade Fair held in Tokyo and Gifu, Japan during Jan - Feb 2002 as invitee of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

o    Established a multimedia studio from scratch in 2000-01, involved in the technical specifications and procurement of Servers / Workstations, MM software licenses, Post Production Equipment, Film Recorder and Scanner, Sixteen camera Motion capture System of Motion Analysis etc. Also actively involved in the recruitment of around 200 animators.

o    Participated in the Conference and Exhibition of SIGGRAPH 2000 held in New Orleans - Louisiana USA in Jul 2000.

o    Visited Kingdom Animasia, Manila Philippines, and a 2D animation company for evaluation.

o    Developed Intel 8085 based Protocol Converter for interconnection of ICL 2955 Mainframe to DEC PDP 11 in 1986.

o    Coordinator for the industry oriented training camp on GNU/LINUX in 2008 conducted by MCA Dept. along with Free Software Foundation

o    Core committee member in the workshop on Recent Trends in Multimedia Programming conducted by Dept. of IT SSNCE in 2006

o    Coordinator Animator’06 workshop on Animation and Games Development in the year 2006 conducted by MCA Dept

o    Coordinator one day workshop on Creativity in the year 2005 conducted by MCA Dept

 

                  Attended

o    Two weeks program on Operations Management at XLRI Jamshedpur in 1997.

o    Two weeks training on 16 bit microprocessors at CEDT , IISc Bangalore in 1987.

o    Four months specialist training on ICL 2950 range Order Code Processor, Device Control Unit , Direct Machine Environment Dump Cracking , Fixed Disc Store 640, Magnetic Tape Drive and Line Printer at their International Training Center , Letchworth -UK in 1982.
