Mahesh Doraiswamy has B. Sc. (Honours) degree in Physics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and Post – Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He joined SSN SoMCA as Professor on July 1, 2008. Prior to this, Doraiswamy taught at the Institute of Financial Management and Research, Chennai, for 5 years, and at T. A. Pai Management Institute, Manipal, for 3 years.
Before joining Academics, Doraiswamy worked in the corporate sector for about 28 years, with reputed organizations like Shaw Wallace, WIMCO (then part of Swedish Match Company), EID – Parry (India) Ltd., and Satyam Renaissance Consulting (subsidiary of Satyam Computers). His experience in urban and rural markets has been extensive, in the areas of Sales Management, Marketing, and Profit Centre Management.
Doraiswamy has been closely involved in the successful launch of several consumer products in the organizations he has worked for.
He teaches in the Marketing/ Sales, HRM, and the General Management streams. His research interests include ‘Valuation of Human Capital’, and ‘Non – Financial Measures of Performance’.
